Next Assassin’s Creed game rumours leak – Gaming site WWG have reportedly been approached by anonymous sources from Ubisoft who have revealed a ton of information about the next Assassin’s Creed game. According to WWG’s sources, the game will be called Assassin’s Creed Origins and will focus on the original assassin’s guild in a massive open world set in Egypt. The game will be less linear and will star two protagonists, with a greater emphasis on exploration than in previous entries. Naval combat is also said to return. The game will launch this Fall with a full reveal intended for E3 next month.

Marvel tells fans to expect VR announcements – Marvel’s VP of Games and Innovations Jay Ong has told fans to “expect VR announcements” in an interview with Gamespot. According to Ong, Marvel sees virtual reality the same way it sees other platforms, saying that it won’t release a VR game “just for the novelty of it.” He also spoke about the upcoming PS4 exclusive Spider-Man game, saying it will be “the best game on the platform.”

IGN reveals 12 minutes of Darksiders III gameplay – IGN First has published a look at pre-alpha gameplay from Darksiders III. The footage shows the game’s protagonist Fury hunting down one of the Seven Deadly Sins on a post-apocalyptic Earth, moving through a typically ruined environment before coming face to face with Sloth. Darksiders III is slated to release on PC, PS4 and Xbox One in 2018.

Starbreeze announces games showcase livestream – Publisher Starbreeze has announced a game showcase livestream will take place on their Twitch channel on May 10. The event will take place at 5PM BST and will include games such as Overkill’s The Walking Dead, Psychonauts 2, System Shock 3, new game reveals and an exclusive Payday 2 announcement. There will also be a Veterans of the Industry panel starring Warren Spector, Tim Shafer and Bo Andersson.

Persona 5 director offers heartfelt thanks to Western fans – Persona 5 director Katsura Hashino has posted a message on Playstation Blog thanking overseas fans for supporting the game. In the message he says that it’s very hard to gauge potential popularity of Japanese games in the West and thanks fans for supporting the “very Japanese” Persona 5. Playstation also revealed that Persona 5 was the best selling game on PSN in North America in April. You can read the full post below.

Void Interactive announce co-op SWAT shooter Ready or Not – Independent developer Void Interactive have announced Ready or Not, a tactical first-person shooter that casts players in an elite SWAT team. Players will have to diffuse hostage situations across a single-player mode, with up to eight players in co-op or in PvP. The game will feature incremental leaning & door opening as well as modular speed control, allowing players full control over their characters movements for more precision than is generally found in other first-person shooters.
