This morning – Rumours are spreading that Nintendo aim to have an SNES Mini out by Christmas, Twitch has announced a new subscription model, Relic Entertainment have released a 40-minute gameplay video for Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War III, the ESA reports that digital sales make up the vast majority of video game purchases in the US and Telltale have announced the release date for the next episode of The Walking Dead: A New Frontier.


Rumours: Nintendo planning to release SNES Mini – Following on from the strange decision to discontinue the popular NES Mini, rumours are circulating that Nintendo are planning to launch an SNES Mini later this year. According to Eurogamer the classic console has already entered production and is scheduled to launch before Christmas. No word yet on whether Nintendo will actually manufacture enough consoles to satisfy demand before cancelling it this time around.

Twitch announces premium subscriptions – Twitch is announcing a new subscription model for fans of certain channels. The current model allows users to subscribe to their favourite Twitch streamers for $4.99 per month. Under the new model, which will enter beta in the next few weeks, fans will have the option to subscribe to the new premium $9.99 or $24.99 options, allowing them access to exclusive emotes (as well as helping out their favourite content creators).

Relic Entertainment release 40 minutes of Dawn of War III gameplay – Developer Relic Entertainment have given their most in-depth look yet at upcoming strategy game Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War III. The studio has uploaded a 40 minute gameplay video of a full 3v3 multiplayer match. The video shows off how multiplayer works as Space Marines, Orcs and Eldar fight to destroy the power cores in their opponents bases, commentated by game director Philippe Boulle and designer Carolina Mastretta.

74% of US video game sales are digital – The Entertainment Software Association have released its annual report (titled 2017 Essential Facts About the Computer and Video Game Industry), revealing that digital sales account for the vast majority of video game related sales in North America. According to the ESA report, 74% of all video game sales take place digitally. The report also reveals that total spending on video games and related purchases in the US totalled $30.4 billion.

The Walking Dead: A New Frontier episode 4 coming in April – The next episode in the latest season of Telltale’s Walking Dead series is launching next week. Episode 4, titled Thicker Than Water, will be launching on all platforms on April 25. This marks a quick turnaround for the latest episode, following on from episode 3 after less than a month, following a three month wait between episodes 2 & 3.
