Sony Interactive Entertainment have confirmed that Playstation VR is launching on October 13 in the United Kingdom, day and date with the North American release date. It’s part of a two wave release strategy, which will see the headset launched in 25 territories first, before heading to other territories at a later, unspecified date.
These are the territories PSVR is launching in come October 13:
Australia, Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Netherlands, New Zealand, North America, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, United Arab Emirates and the United Kingdom.
Playstation VR will cost £349.
Sony also confirmed the first-party launch line-up for the headset:
- RIGS – £49.99
- VR Worlds – £29.99
- Until Dawn: Rush of Blood – £15.99
- Super Stardust – £15.99
- Hustle Kings – £15.99
- Tumble VR – £9.99
There will presumably be some third-party games launching with the headset as well. It’s also worth noting that Sony have confirmed there are 50 games in development aiming to launch by the end of the year.
