Microsoft treat us to the first glimpse of co-operative multiplayer for its upcoming action RPG Scalebound. Platinum Games’ Hideki Kamiya was on hand to show off the game and the multiplayer at the E3 press briefing.

He definitely needed all the help he could get in the stage demo. Did you see the size of that boss? It looked like a cross between a crab and a scorpion. And a demon.

Co-op in the demo was four player, with each player also bringing their own dragon to the party. The gameplay itself was a mix of the kind of close quarters melee combat Platinum has made its name for, as well as ranged combat that comes from mounting up on your dragon.

Scalebound launches in 2017 for Xbox One and Windows 10.
