Ubisoft took the time at E3 last night to show off some of the single-player for its upcoming battle game For Honor. Last year when the game was revealed only the multiplayer was shown, but now we’ve been given a 10-minute glimpse into the games campaign.
The best news, for starters, is that For Honor’s story mode can be played solo or co-operatively. The story centers around the Blackstone Legion and a mysterious antagonist who seems to want to extend the central conflict between the Samurai, Viking and Knight factions found in the game.
For Honor’s deep tactical combat makes the transition to single-player. While the demo was populated with what is best described as axe fodder, minions who go down easily under the sheer Viking might on display, there were mini-bosses spread throughout.
These enemies require the same mechanics as the PvP fights shown off last year – players will need to watch them carefully and change stances to effectively block and counter their attacks. Stances are controlled via the right analogue stick, and players will need to switch between left, right or high blocks and attacks.
For Honor launches on February 14, 2017 on PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
