EA launched their EA Play press event with an in-depth look at their upcoming first-person shooter Titanfall 2. The game was given a decent chunk of their conference, and included a look at the multiplayer, as well as the brand new single-player campaign.
The multiplayer trailer, which kicked off the event after a lot of talking, started out in a way that will be familiar to players of the first Titanfall game – with six pilots jumping out of a drop ship to take on a mission.
The trailer showcased a lot of new abilities and features for the sequel. Pilots could be seen using grappling hooks to traverse environments, hook onto their Titans (and enemy Titans), and even hook onto other players.
Titans were seen with a range of new abilities, including a ground pound, projectile flame attack and some sort of beam cannon.
There were plenty of returning features familiar to Titanfall players also, with wall-running and parkour still be highly prevelant throughout the trailer. A beta was announced for Titanfall 2’s multiplayer, which you can sign up for by clicking here.
Also shown at the event was a trailer for Titanfall 2’s single-player campaign. This cinematic trailer revolved around the relationship between pilot and Titan, where it was revealed that a Titan can actually talk. The trailer gave fans a glimpse into the story for the upcoming game, as well as a couple of interesting new enemies and mechanics, including the ability for a Titan to throw its pilot to otherwise out of reach parts of a map.
Titanfall 2 is launching for PC, PS4 and Xbox One on October 28, 2016.
