It seems that CD Projekt Red have plans to release Gwent as a standalone card game, if a recently uncovered trademark is anything to go by. The trademark, which even comes with the logo pictured above, was uncovered by NerdLeaks, who spotted it had been filed with the European Union Intellectual Property Office.
For those that don’t know, Gwent is the addictive collectible card game that made its debut in last years exceptional Witcher 3. There the game was a side activity, playable only against certain NPC’s within the game world. Now it seems that the Polish developer has bigger plans for Gwent.
We probably won’t have to wait long for an announcement, as CD Projekt Red recently revealed that they would be announcing “a new type of video game format previously unexplored by the studio” at E3.
