As if unsure how the Streisand Effect works, Blizzard have begun aggressively shutting down as much Overwatch porn as it can find. While the game is the talk of the Internet amongst gamers for its quality, it’s also popular for other reasons – if the 800% increase in search results for the game on Pornhub after its May 5 open beta are anything to go by.

Blizzard have gone full tilt in an attempt to remove as much of this porn as they can, issuing DMCA takedowns of a wide array of videos.

The developer is specifically targeting Source Film Maker related videos, as was made apparent by a Reddit user detailing how his video was removed.

As this porn uses character models ripped straight from the game, Blizzard is well within its rights to protect its IP with these DMCA’s. However given the heavy handed nature of Blizzard’s takedowns, it seems fairly obvious what will happen next.
