UPDATE: No Man’s Sky has definitely been delayed. Hello Games founder Sean Murray has confirmed as much on the Playstation Blog, with then game now scheduled to launch in North America on August 9, Europe on August 10 and the UK on August 12. The original story continues below.

Rumours have started to circle that No Man’s Sky is about to be delayed from its June 21 release date. This comes from a Gamestop employee in America who was told to cover up the release date on marketing materials for the game with a “coming soon” sticker because, according to Gamestop corporate, the release date was no longer accurate and they wanted to avoid confusion.

Here’s the actual message from Gamestop upper management:

“The release date for No Man’s Skyhas changed since the provided posters were printed. Please use a coming soon pop-on to cover up the date and communicate as needed your guest about the change of release.”

If No Man’s Sky is going to be delayed, Sony and Hello Games will need to announce something soon, as we’re less than a month away from the current launch date for the game.
