After a week of teases, Bethesda have detailed some of their upcoming DLC for last years Fallout 4. The first series of DLC will consist of 3 packs – Automatron, Wasteland Workshop and Far Harbor.

Automatron, the first piece of Fallout 4 DLC, will launch in March for £7.99. It will centre around a villain known as The Mechanist, who has unleashed a horde of robots on The Commonwealth. Players will hunt them down and can harvest parts from them to build their own, customisable robot companions. Bethesda promises hundreds of potential combinations, with players having the ability to mix limbs, weapons, mods and more.

The second DLC pack will be launched in April. Wasteland Workshop will cost £3.99, and will give players the ability to set cages up throughout the Commonwealth. With these cages you’ll be able to trap all sorts of creatures, from raiders to Deathclaws. You’ll be able to tame them or have them fight each other.

The third and most substantial of the first wave of DLC packs, Far Harbor, is due in May and will cost you £19.99. Far Harbor adds an entirely new area for players to explore – a small island off the coast of Maine. There you’ll find a secret colony of synths and must navigate a growing conflict between them, the local townspeople and the Children of the Atom, all while working a missing persons case from the Valentine Detective Agency.

According to Bethesda, Far Harbor is the biggest landmass the studio has ever produced for DLC, with new faction quests, settlements, lethal creatures, dungeons, and high level weapons and armour.

All of these DLC packs are available as part of the Fallout 4 season pass, with Bethesda planning on adding more content throughout 2016. As part of their “expanded DLC plans” they are raising the price of the pass. Currently £24.99, the price will be raised to £39.99 on March 1, so if you’re planning on getting the season pass now is the time.

Bethesda are also planning on adding new content and features to Fallout 4 via free updates. They are currently working on The Creation Kit, which will allow anyone to easily mod the game, and a new Survival Mode. Survival Mode will change how you play the game – with food, sleep, diseases, danger and more.
