Shahid Kamal Ahmad, head of Sony’s Strategic Content division in the UK, announced via a blog post that he intends to leave the company this December, three days after his tenth anniversary with Playstation.

Since 2012, Ahmad has been heading up Playstation’s Strategic Content division, and has been instrumental in bringing independent developers to the platform, such as Vlambeer and Mike Bithell, offering them support and guidance and winning many friends in the process. Of course it’s not just his professionalism that has made him well liked throughout the industry, he’s been very approachable and active on Twitter, and is generally a nice guy to boot.

Plus he’s been a champion for the Playstation Vita, which as far as I’m concerned makes us best friends for life.

Ahmad is departing Playstation with a single goal; to make games again, for the first time in twenty-five years. Words About Games wishes him the best of luck in his future endeavours, and is looking forward to trying out whatever games he creates.
