Recently, Allison Road was taken to Kickstarter in an attempt to find the funds necessary to bring the awesome looking, P.T. inspired horror to life. Yesterday the Kickstarter was cancelled after developer Lilith announced that the game had been picked up by Team 17.

In the update, published through the projects Kickstarter page, the developer said:

“We have decided to withdraw the Kickstarter campaign to allow us to commit 100 percent to an opportunity that will give us the chance as a team to create the best game possible.

As a newly founded studio, we’ve been completely overwhelmed by your encouragement and huge interest in Allison Road and we’d love to thank each and every one of you for all of the amazing support you have given us during our Kickstarter campaign and beyond. Really incredibly appreciated.”

Allison Road had been sitting on £145,959 of its £250,000 goal with nine days left in its campaign. Now the game is certain to be made and published thanks to the support of Worms developer Team 17, who has been recently taken a role in publishing some of the most promising indie games on the scene, including recent games like The Escapists and Beyond Eyes.

While the crowdfunding campaign is over, Lilith will continue to release updates on the development status of the game. They’re also “look[ing] at ways outside of Kickstarter that will allow [fans] to be involved in the game at a later date.”

Allison Road was scheduled to be released on PC by the end of 2016, though with this latest development it remains to be seen whether this release schedule will be affected.
