Last Friday saw a raft of Sony announcements surrounding EGX, including special guests and the line-up of games that the console manufacturer will be bringing to the show. The biggest news is that the President of Worldwide Studios SCE, Shuhei Yoshida himself, will be in attendance. He’ll be taking part in a developer session on Saturday at 1pm titled “20 Years of Play – A Q&A with Shuhei Yoshida”. There he will be looking back at the launch line-up of the original Playstation, talking about the changes in the video game market over the course of 20 years, and much more.
Shu and Naughty Dog’s Arne Meyer will also be on stage in the Sony booth meeting fans on the Saturday. Meyer is delivering a developer session on the same day called “An Uncharted Retrospective – Greatness from Small Beginnings” that will chronicle the eight years of development of the Uncharted series.
As for what Sony is bringing with them for gamers to get their hands on, Project Morpheus is probably the biggest thing that will be at the Sony booth. UK gamers will be able to try out Sony’s VR offering for the very first time, although anyone interested will need to pre-book a timeslot to manage queues.
Game-wise, Sony don’t really have much in the way of first party titles to bring to the show, so the bulk of their booth will be made up of third-party titles and recently released games. The biggest game they’re bringing to EGX is Call of Duty: Black Ops III. Other games that Sony will have at their booth include Lego Dimensions, Guitar Hero Live, Street Fighter V and the Tomorrow Children. Click here to see the full list.
