2D sidescroller Axiom Verge, an excellent game that is heavily reminiscent of Super Metroid, is set be released on PC via Steam and the Humble Store The game is a metroidvania style action platformer developed by Tom Happ. No, seriously, the whole thing was made just by Tom Happ.

The Steam release will come with all the usual bells and whistles; namely achievements, Cloud Saves, Trading Card support. The game will cost £14.99, or your regional equivalent, which is the same as the PS4 version, a version you can buy right now. The PS Vita version of the game has yet to be given a release date, though it will support cross-buy.

Incidentally I was talking about Axiom Verge on the newest, as yet unreleased episode of the Couch Co-op Podcast that we just finished recording. For my thoughts on the game check out the episode on Monday, or hold out until my review, which will be coming as soon as I figure out how to beat the damn Hornet boss.
